CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR LEAVE AND PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS 2019/2020 – NETWORK RAIL
You will be aware that a ballot was recently begun concerning the above matter and the failure of Network Rail to have offered any arrangement for Christmas and New Year Leave and Payments in respect of former Thales contract staff.
Following our entering into dispute with Network Rail on this issue discussions have taken place between us and we have received a confirmed offer:
Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day
Staff will be paid time plus 200% (treble time) for all hours worked between 00.01 and 23.59 plus a day off in lieu OR a lump sum of £160 if at least 50% of the turn worked
Staff will be paid £100 for each 24-hour period, or pro-rata if less than 24 hours, plus a day in lieu
Your union’s National Executive Committee has recently considered the offer and accepts the Christmas and New Year Pay arrangements in the short term. There are still a number of issues that need to be addressed, along with any future arrangements. This will be pursued by your union through the Allowances Joint Working Group.
Therefore the ballot has been cancelled and we are no longer in dispute with Network Rail on this matter.
