CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR LEAVE & PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS 2020-2021 – CROSS COUNTRY
Further to my letter dated the 13th November 2020 with regards to the above matter and where I informed you that the RMT had gone into dispute with Cross Country over the company’s refusal to commit to an enhanced payment for working the substitute Bank Holiday on Monday 28th December 2020.
I am now pleased to advise you that the Lead Officer and your Union Reps have been in discussions with Cross Country and the company has proposed to pay our Senior Conductor and Train Manager members ‘double time plus an additional annual leave day or single time and two additional annual leave days’ for working the substitute bank holiday. This will be on a voluntary basis only and those staff who are scheduled to work who do not volunteer will be stood down on full pay.
I can also advise you that it is the unanimous decision of your Company Council Reps to accept the company’s proposals.
Therefore, the matter has been considered by the union’s National Executive Committee who has taken the decision to accept the proposals and notify the company that a dispute situation no longer exists between our two organisations.
On behalf of myself and the Executive Committee, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Cross Country Train Manager and Senior Conductor Company Councils for their determination in bringing this matter to a satisfactory conclusion.
