CLASS 360 METHOD OF WORKING – EAST MIDLANDS RAILWAY

REMINDER TO VOTE
PLEASE RETURN YOUR BALLOT PAPER
BY NO LATER THAN THURSDAY 17TH JUNE 2021

Dear Colleague

CLASS 360 METHOD OF WORKING – EAST MIDLANDS RAILWAY

You should now have received your ballot paper for the above dispute, from the independent scrutineer Civica. If you have not yet done so, please make sure you return your ballot paper to the scrutineer by the closing date of Thursday 17th June 2021.

I have received reports that managers are currently conducting ‘road shows’ across the network in an attempt to convince you and your colleagues to vote no in the ballot. The company are peddling misinformation and are being economical with the truth. The union has both publicly and privately requested to meet with the company to resolve this dispute, despite the company trying to claim the contrary. It is disappointing that East Midlands Railway are using their efforts to try and undermine our dispute and mislead you and your colleagues. If the company put as much effort into meeting with your union as they are on these road shows, the dispute could have been resolved.

Therefore, your vote is needed more than ever. If you have not received your ballot paper or if you know of a colleague who has not received theirs, please email us at info@rmt.org.uk or contact the RMT Helpline on 0800 376 3706 and a replacement ballot paper will be sent out to your home address by first class post.

Do not waste your vote. It is imperative that we get a massive return in the ballot for industrial action, so we are not prevented from acting on our members’ wishes by the ballot thresholds. Failure to meet these thresholds means industrial action cannot happen, so a high turnout is absolutely crucial. We must send the company a clear message that we will not fall victim to their propaganda and misinformation and that we demand action on the issues at the heart of this dispute.

I urge you all to use your vote. Vote 'YES' for strike action and ‘YES’ for action short of a strike to get East Midlands Railway to take our genuine safety concerns seriously.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR VOTE – RETURN YOUR BALLOT PAPER
VOTE ‘YES’ FOR STRIKE ACTION AND ‘YES’ FOR ACTION SHORT OF A STRIKE

I will, of course, keep you fully advised on any further developments.

Yours sincerely

Michael Lynch
General Secretary
