CLOSURE OF TICKET OFFICES – GREATER ANGLIA

As you will be aware, your Union is determined to defend all ticket office roles and prevent the closure of ticket offices. Following the response from Greater Anglia a further meeting took place with the Senior Assistant General Secretary, Lead Officer, Company Council Reps and National Executive Committee to discuss the next course of action.

This Union remains concerned by Greater Anglia’s continued failure to provide nothing but vague statements, ambiguous commitments on jobs and an unclear strategy on how it intends to encompass ticket offices and staff into its plans for the remaining nine years of the franchise. Employees need more than promises from management to “monitor” the future use of ticket offices as it is your jobs and livelihood that are at stake.

To increase awareness and support for this issue, RMT will be relaunching our Save Our Stations campaign and your local Branches and the London Transport Regional Council will organise special meetings for local station leafleting days. I would encourage all members to assist by attending Branch meetings and future leafleting days where possible.

The NEC will review the situation and the progress of the campaign by no later than 10th August and I will of course keep you advised of all further developments.
