COMMISSION BONUS SCHEME, SENIOR CONDUCTORS – WEST MIDLANDS TRAINS
As you may be aware, for some considerable time there has been an interim agreement with regards to the communications equipment and commission payments affecting our members employed by West Midlands Trains. Following protracted negotiations between your Senior Union Representatives and management, the company has proposed the following agreement:
1. WMT will re-issue the undated document (for avoidance of doubt) the ‘Agreement between London Midland Ltd and the Central Trains Senior Conductor Company Council on a Commission Bonus Scheme’ implemented 1 August 2008 under West Midlands Trains Ltd. There will be no end date on this new agreement and it will therefore continue to apply for the current and future franchises.
2. In light of (1) above it was felt by both WMT and RMT that a new proposal should be considered which may constitute a company-wide agreement or simply, a revision to the ex-Central agreement. It was noted that if an agreement cannot be reached on any new proposal, the default position for ex-Central depots only are set out in (1) above.
3. Ex-Silverlink commission rates stay in place at the current agreed levels.
Your Senior Union Representatives has indicated that the proposed agreement does not contain an end date in terms of its application and are in agreement with the words of the agreement. Therefore, the matter has been subject to recent consideration by the union’s National Executive Committee and I have been instructed to notify the company of our acceptance of the offer.
I trust this keeps you fully advised on the matter.
