COMPANY FAILS TO RESOLVE DISPUTE – ACTION REMAINS ON

Dear Colleague,

BREACH OF THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT – CROSS COUNTRY

Further to my letter dated 7th August, RMT held discussions with the Company regarding this dispute in an effort to seek a resolution. The meeting seemed positive and the Company agreed to send a proposal in writing to address the three issues which form this dispute:-

  1. Breach of the Collective Bargaining Agreement by imposition of a fundamental change to the Flexible Working Policy
  2. Breach of the Collective Bargaining Agreement by refusal to recognise RMT to represent Driver Grades
  3. Breach of the Collective Bargaining Agreement by Negotiating Changes to Companywide Disciplinary Procedures without the involvement of the RMT

This correspondence has now been received but regrettably, the Company has reneged on its promises and the ‘updated proposals’ do nothing to resolve the dispute.

The National Executive Committee has noted the latest updates that the Company has failed to address any of the issues and has taken the decision to reject these proposals. The industrial action for members not to work any rest-days or non-contractual overtime from 23:59 hours on Thursday 22nd August until 23:59 hours on Tuesday 27th August 2019 remains in place.

I will of course keep you advised of all further developments.

STAND FIRM TOGETHER - SUPPORT THE ACTION

UNITY IS STRENGTH

Yours sincerely
