COMPULSORY LIQUIDATION OF CARILLION – AMEY TAKES ON NETWORK RAIL INFRASTRUCTURE WORKS
Since the collapse of Carillion, RMT has been involved in discussions regarding the continuation of its projects and of course the associated protections for members. Further talks have recently taken place and it is now confirmed that Amey will take over the majority of Carillion’s Network Rail infrastructure works.
The Union would have of course preferred to have all work taken directly in-house by Network Rail but nonetheless this is a positive announcement for all those members involved.
Due to the compulsory liquidation of Carillion, TUPE won’t apply to the transfer to Amey but our negotiating teams will seek to protect all members interests as far as possible. The finer details of exactly which works are included and what terms and conditions members will be on will be the subject of these talks with Amey and I will write again as soon as there is a further update.
The discussions with Network Rail, TfL, the train companies and PWC are still taking place to cover other Carillion areas not covered by the above and I will keep you advised of all developments.
