CUSTOMER HOST ROLE PROFILE & MONITORING – GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY

Our Bristol Branch raised a number of concerns over our members being asked to sign off on the ACMS and new additions being introduced to the Customer Host role. The branch believes that there was no consultation or information given to members in the Bristol Branch regarding the Customer Host Role Profile & Monitoring.

The National Executive Committee has considered this matter and has noted the issues referred to in the Bristol Branch resolution. However, the document the branch is referring to is the ‘Competence Management System for Catering Colleagues’. The introduction of the system was agreed in the Catering Grades Restructuring agreement that our members voted to accept in a referendum in November 2018.

The Competence Management System for Catering Colleagues has not been fully agreed and is currently undergoing consultation with the document being discussed at the On-Trains Divisional Council level. During these consultations our representatives have already requested a number of amendments to the draft document and the union are currently awaiting a revised version from the company incorporating these amendments.

Therefore, I have been instructed to keep members fully appraised of the situation and for the Bristol Branch to be given regular updated reports on the progress of the system.
