DE-RECOGNITION – UNIPART RAIL (CREWE)

Ref: ORG/REC/UNIPART

19th August 2024

Dear colleague,

DE-RECOGNITION – UNIPART RAIL (CREWE)

Following a meeting with Unipart Rail on 14th August 2024, your Union received notification from the company of their decision to terminate RMT’s recognition agreement at the Crewe Service Centre site with one months’ notice.

Both RMT and Unite have recognition at this site, and the company advise that their existing recognition agreement with Unite will continue unaffected.

A report on this matter was received from the RMT’s Lead Officer (Daren Ireland) which received the consideration of the National Executive Committee (NEC) on 15th August 2024. In response, the NEC issued the following instructions:

  1. That a meeting is arranged at Senior Management level, attended by the General Secretary (or senior Assistant General Secretary) and Lead Officer.

  1. To write to Unite, seeking support on this matter.

  1. Arranging a meeting of affected members at Crewe.

I am acting in accordance with these instructions and can advise that the members’ meeting has been arranged for Wednesday 21st August 2024 from 17.00 hours at Ebenezers, 159 Nantwich Road, Crewe CW2 6DF. I should be grateful if you would make every effort to attend.

Yours sincerely,

Michael Lynch

General Secretary
