TO ALL RMT MEMBERS AT CROSS COUNTRY TRAINS LTD
DO NOT WASTE YOUR VOTE
VOTE 'YES' FOR STRIKE ACTION & ACTION SHORT
Dear Colleagues,
DE-RECOGNITION - SUPERVISORY AND CLERICAL GRADES
CROSS COUNTRY
Despite confirming RMT’s recognition rights following an Avoidance of Dispute meeting in 2019, following ongoing correspondence and an in-person meeting, the company are maintaining their position that we are no longer allowed to represent our Supervisory & Clerical members and are even seeking a legal challenge. In doing so, they have failed to acknowledge that these RMT members have voted in ballots, taken strike action along with the colleagues, and even voted on the Memorandum of Understanding regarding the National Dispute.
While RMT will continue to remain available for legitimate and meaningful discussions on a resolution to this dispute, it is imperative that a ‘YES’ vote is returned to make it clear to the company that their position is unacceptable.
The closing date for the ballot is Thursday 21st March 2024, so if you haven’t done so already, now is the time to vote. Due to balloting laws, I cannot stress enough how important it is that you fill in your ballot paper and return it as quickly as possible.
If you have not received your ballot paper or know of a colleague who has not received it, please call us on 0800 376 3706 or e-mail info@rmt.org.uk as soon as possible.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON BALLOT THRESHOLDS
Since the Trade Union Act 2016 introduced even more restrictive anti-trade union laws, all ballots must meet a threshold where at least 50% of all eligible members must vote and 40% of all those eligible to vote must vote yes.
As a result of these draconian restrictions every single vote counts. A simple majority is no longer enough so you cannot rely on other colleagues to get the vote over the line.
Therefore, I urge you to complete and return your voting paper by no later than first post, Thursday 21st March 2024.
Important Please Note: The Scrutineer for RMT Ballots and Elections is ‘CES' (Civica Election Services). Letters from Civica are not Junk Mail and should be opened. |
Yours sincerely,
Michael Lynch
General Secretary
