DEFENDING JOBS, PENSIONS & AGREEMENTS – LONDON UNDERGROUND

 

Representatives for RMT members working in Power Control Rooms at LU raised concerns recently that management intended to impose new rosters which would see only four staff per shift rather than the current six per shift.

 

Your representatives attempted to raise this with management but were shunned and met with the company declaring that it would immediately impose the plan.

 

You and your colleagues are not prepared to put up with diktats such as this and a request was made for your union’s National Executive Committee (NEC) to announce an overtime and rest day working ban for a four-week period. This request has been endorsed by your NEC. 

 

You are therefore instructed not to work any overtime or rest days from 

 

  • 00:01 hours on Thursday 18th July 2024 until 23:59 hours on Wednesday 14th August 2024

 

We would hope that by taking this action you force management to withdraw the proposals and, should they have anything they want to raise, then they do so round the negotiating table and not just issue unacceptable orders and working arrangements.

 

I will of course keep you updated with regards to any response I receive from the company with regards to the formal notice I have served on them of this action.

 

In the meantime, I have no doubt that you will be determined to take this action and send management a clear message that their proposals need to be binned.
