Dear RMT Members

DEFENDING JOBS, PENSIONS & AGREEMENTS – LONDON UNDERGROUND

Following suspension of the overtime and rest day working ban, I have now received the official offer in writing from London Underground, confirming the below points:

  1. The existing 4 Relief Power Control Room Operators will be allocated into the vacant fixed shift positions

  1. Vacant shift positions will be filled with a Fixed Power Control Room Operator with any recruitment above the establishment of 30 rostered (fixed) Power Control Room Operators in the Power Control Room going into a relief Power Control Room Operator position

  1. Guidelines on how Relief Power Control Room Operators will be utilised will be produced in conjunction with the Union

  1. LUL will adhere to the London Underground Machinery of Negotiation and Consultation regarding any future proposed changes

  1. LUL agreed to work with your RMT Reps to seek to create a locally agreed agreement covering: annual leave; rosters, including shift changes/movements; training and licensing; paybacks; pay parity and grade progression; Relief Operator guidelines; emergency cover arrangements.

This matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee, which has congratulated all Power Control Room Operator members for their efforts in defending their terms and conditions. The Union will continue to monitor this situation and I will keep you advised of all further developments.

Yours sincerely

Michael Lynch
