REMINDER TO VOTE

PLEASE RETURN YOUR BALLOT PAPER 

BY NO LATER THAN TUESDAY 13^TH AUGUST 2024

DISCIPLINARY, J PICKARD, BARNHAM – SOUTHERN (GTR)

 

Our Southern (GTR) On Board Supervisor grade members located at Barnham Depot should now have received their ballot paper for the above dispute, from the independent scrutineer Civica. If you have not yet done so, please make sure you return your ballot paper to the scrutineer by the closing date of Tuesday 13^th August 2024.

 

If you have not received your ballot paper or if you know of a colleague who has not received theirs, please email us ballot@rmt.org.ukor contact the RMT Helpline on 0800 376 3706 and a replacement ballot paper will be sent out to your home address by first class post.

 

Do not waste your vote. It is imperative that we get a massive return in the ballot for industrial action so that we are not prevented from acting on our members’ wishes by the ballot thresholds. Failure to meet these thresholds means industrial action cannot happen so a high turnout is absolutely crucial. 

 

Southern is punishing our OBS grade members for defending themselves when they are faced with challenging situations from the travelling public. Management is failing to address the severe anti-sociable behaviour and the rise in physical/verbal assaults on our OBS grade members across their network. Victims of workplace violence should be supported and not punished for acts of self-defence. The only way to send management a clear message on these very important issues is by voting ‘YES’ to both questions in the ballot for industrial action. I urge you all to use your vote and return your ballot paper immediately.
