DISMISSAL, J. BOYNTON, ON-BOARD CHEF – VIRGIN WEST COAST

Our Ref: BR2/4/1

21st June 2018

Dear Colleague

DISMISSAL, J. BOYNTON, ON-BOARD CHEF – VIRGIN WEST COAST

Further to my letter dated the 4th June 2018 with regards to the above matter and where I informed you that the RMT were in dispute with Virgin West Coast over the unfair dismissal of Brother John Boynton under the company’s MFA procedure.

I can now advise you that an Appeal Hearing has been held and I have received an update report from the Lead Officer indicating that our member has been reinstated to his substantive grade.

Therefore, the matter has been subject to recent consideration by your union’s National Executive Committee who notes the updated report from the Lead Officer and congratulates the strength, support and solidarity shown to Brother Boynton by our Liverpool No 5 Branch and the work put in by the Lead Officer who got a dismissal overturned to an MFA.

The RMT will not tolerate our members being bulled and harassed out of the door by the company’s disregard for hard working, loyal members of staff.

I trust this keeps you fully advised on the matter.

Best wishes.

Mick Cash
General Secretary
