DISMISSAL, J GALLAGHER, PLYMOUTH – RAIL GOURMET
Firstly, I would like to congratulate you and your colleagues for returning a tremendous yes vote in defence of our colleague who has been unfairly dismissed and treated appallingly by Rail Gourmet. As you are aware, an injustice to one is an injustice to all and the treatment of our colleague just shows the clear lack of respect Rail Gourmet has for you and your colleagues.
The National Executive Committee has carefully considered the result and believes that we now must take a stand and send the company a clear message that we will not allow them to unfairly dismiss our members.
Therefore, the NEC is instructing you and your colleagues to take industrial action short of a strike as outlined below:
- Overtime and Rest Day Working Ban from 04:30am on Wednesday 4th March 2020 until further notice.
We must continue to stand strong during this dispute and ensure the company are left in no doubt that we will not stop until our colleague is fully reinstated. I urge members to continue your magnificent solidarity and support for John. We cannot allow this appalling situation to continue.
