DISMISSAL, J HUGHES – GATE GOURMET (EDINBURGH)

 

As you are aware, the union’s National Executive Committee has called Industrial Action in support of your fellow colleague and long-standing RMT representative, John Hughes, over allegations with regards to an altercation and threatening behavior in the workplace.

 

I can now advise you that a meeting has been held today with the Assistant General Secretary, Lead Officer and Gate Gourmet management and the company has agreed to review the matter. Therefore, the union’s National Executive Committee has taken the decision to suspend Strike Action pending the outcome of this review by no later than Thursday 10^th October 2024. 

 

The Industrial Action due to take place from 05.59 hours on Saturday 5^th October 2024 and 05.59 hours on Monday 7^th October 2024 is suspended and all Gate Gourmet members located at Edinburgh Waverley are instructed to work normally on these days.

 

You have already been advised of the Strike Action called on the following dates which remains in place:

 

• 05.59 Hours on Saturday 12^th October 2024 and 05.59 Hours on Monday 14^thOctober 2024
• 05.59 Hours on Saturday 19^th October 2024 and 05.59 Hours on Monday 21^stOctober 2024
