DISMISSAL, NATHAL IGNATIUS ANDREWS – RAIL GOURMET

Our Ref: HC/4/1

23rd January 2018

Dear Colleague

DISMISSAL, NATHAL IGNATIUS ANDREWS – RAIL GOURMET

Your union’s National Executive Committee has recently considered the case of Brother Nathal Ignatius Andrews and has taken the decision to conduct a ballot for industrial action of all our Rail Gourmet members located at Manchester Piccadilly.

It is the view of this Union that Brother Andrews has been unfairly dismissed as a result of undertaking his trade union duties and activities in trying to defend and improve the working terms and conditions of our members. I have advised the company that a dispute situation exists and will do so until Nathal Ignatius Andrews is reinstated.

You will soon receive your voting paper for the above dispute. If you have not received your voting paper by the 1st February please contact the RMT Helpline on 0800 376 3706 or 0207 387 4771 as soon as possible and ask for the Industrial Relations Department.

It is imperative that we get a massive return in the ballot for industrial action so we are not prevented from acting on members’ wishes by the new ballot thresholds. Please make sure you return your voting paper to the Scrutineer by the closing date of Thursday 8th February 2018.

I urge you not to waste your vote and to vote ‘YES’ FOR STRIKE ACTION AND ‘YES’ FOR INDUSTRIAL ACTION SHORT OF A STRIKE to stop management treating our members with contempt.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR VOTE – RETURN YOUR VOTING PAPER
VOTE ‘YES’ FOR STRIKE ACTION AND ACTION SHORT OF A STRIKE

As always, I will keep you fully advised on any further developments.

Best wishes.

Mick Cash
General Secretary
