STRIKE ACTION IS SUSPENDED – BOOK ON & WORK AS NORMAL
Further to previous correspondence, your RMT Lead Officer and negotiating team have been at a series of talks with the Company at ACAS where an expert toxicologist attended today and explained what LUL had been unable to in relation to the test results.
This matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee which has noted this latest development and taken the decision to SUSPEND THE STRIKE ACTION due to take place from 20:00 hours on Friday 21st December to 02:00 hours on Saturday 22nd December and 04:00 to 20:00 hours on Saturday 22nd December. You are therefore instructed to book on for all shifts and work as normal.
It is simply astonishing that it has taken this length of time to find out once and for all about the breach of the D&A policy. RMT has until now met a wall of denial and obstruction in months of meetings and strike action inconveniencing our members and the travelling public. Throughout this dispute, the Union made repeated requests for LUL to provide the exact test figures, and only now we get the trust after so much time, effort and cost for all involved.
All members are congratulated for their solidarity in this unfortunate matter which has been mishandled by the Company from day one.
