DISMISSAL, REBECCA HUGHES, TRAIN MANAGER, HOLYHEAD – VIRGIN WEST COAST
As you are aware our colleague Rebecca has been wrongfully dismissed by Virgin West Coast. It is disgraceful that the company still believe their decision to dismiss Rebecca was justified, despite the huge mandate for industrial action and the clear sense of feeling from you and your colleagues. We cannot allow the company to continue to treat our colleague in this way and we must do everything possible to defend Rebecca and anyone else who may be unfairly dismissed by the company.
Talks with the company are still on-going, but, regrettably have not progressed and Rebecca remains dismissed. Therefore, as a way of reminder, members are reminded that the industrial action remains on and is as follows:-
• All Train Managers on Virgin West Coast are instructed not to work any rest days or voluntary overtime from 00.01 hours on Thursday 10th October 2019 until further notice
I urge all members to strongly support this action and send management a clear message that the way they have treated Rebecca is unacceptable and she must be reinstated immediately.
