DISPLACEMENT, TRAIN OPERATORS, CENTRAL LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND

Our Ref: LUL/16/4

24th January 2017

Dear Colleague,

DISPLACEMENT, TRAIN OPERATORS, CENTRAL LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND

STRIKE ACTION REMAINS ON

Further to my letter dated 18th January 2017, your RMT Reps met LUL at ACAS today in a final attempt to find a solution which would allow us to suspend the industrial action. Regrettably, management are insistent that the forced displacements will take place and have dismissed any alternative proposal to the extent that members have now received letters confirming their forced move to the other side of the network.

As a result, the strike action remains firmly on and all affected members at Hainault, Leytonstone and Loughton Traincrew Depots NOT TO BOOK ON for any shifts that commence between:-

•    21:00 hours on Wednesday 25th January 2017 and 20:59 hours on Thursday 26th January 2017.

The massively detrimental effect on members’ work life balance, by adding over ten hours to their weekly travelling time to and from work is unacceptable and is also a total breach of the pay and night tube agreement that there would be minimum disruptions to Train Operators. LUL Drivers in ASLE&F are now also being balloted over this issue and I urge you all to stand firm together during the above strike action.

SUPPORT THE ACTION – UNITY IS STRENGTH

As always, we remain available for further talks with the Company and I will keep you advised of all further developments.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
