DUTIES/SHIFT COVERAGE, BAKERLOO SOUTH GROUP

Our Ref: LUL/14/5

10th January 2019

Dear Colleague,

DUTIES/SHIFT COVERAGE, BAKERLOO SOUTH GROUP LONDON UNDERGROUND

STRIKE ACTION on Saturday 13th & Monday 14th January 2019 IS SUSPENDED BOOK ON & WORK AS NORMAL

Further to my letter dated 20th December, the Company has now confirmed that a meeting regarding the review of the Business Needs Schematics will take place with your RMT Reps within the next two weeks and will include all stations within the Bakerloo South Cover Group. A timescale for future meetings will be arranged at this initial meeting.

The Company has advised that the current vacancies for a full time CSA and two part time CSA’s at Oxford Circus will be filled by 17th February 2019. A CSA position at Oxford Circus currently uncovered due to training will be covered going forward. A Night Tube CSA position at Charing Cross will be referred to Stations Resourcing to provide a plan to fill this position and offered as overtime in the meantime.

Two full time CSA positions at Piccadilly Circus are not vacancies but have been displayed incorrectly on the coverage sheets and this will be corrected to ensure the error does not reoccur.

Also, to ensure that all uncovered duties are properly advertised in future, the Company will send an e-mail or bulletin to all eligible staff.

The National Executive Committee has now considered this matter again and taken the decision to SUSPEND THE STRIKE ACTION called from 22:29 hours on Sunday 13th to 22:29 hours on Monday 14th January 2019 and also SUSPEND THE ACTION SHORT OF A STRIKE to refuse to familiarise anyone who would not normally work at your station. You are therefore instructed to book on for all shifts and work as normal.

This victory for staffing is to the credit of all members, Reps and the Branch who have demonstrated their willingness to and determination to see this matter resolved. I wish to thank members for their support during this dispute and the Union will of course continue to remain vigilant going forward.

Yours sincerely   Mick Cash General Secretary
