FAILURE TO FILL STATION GRADES VACANCIES – AVANTI WEST COAST

 

I write with regards to the above matter and to inform you that I have received a report from the Lead Officer, indicating that the Stations Company Council has registered a Fail to Agree over Avanti West Coast failure to fill ticket office and other station vacancies, despite numerous communications from your Reps to the company calling for the filling of these positions.

 

The matter has been considered by the union’s National Executive Committee, who are gravely concerned that Avanti West Coast are not adhering to the Memorandum of Understanding arising from the National Dispute over Jobs, Pay and Conditions, by not filling vacancies.

 

Therefore, I have been instructed to inform Avanti West Coast that a dispute situation now exists between our two organisations over this matter.

 

The Executive Committee has also requested for a meeting to be held between the Avanti Stations Company Council and the union’s National Executive Committee, to discuss further steps in this dispute.
