Our Ref: LUL/14/3

13th May 2020

TO ALL RMT MEMBERS AT ALSTOM METRO TRAINS

Dear Colleagues

FURLOUGH ARRANGEMENTS - CORONAVIRUS – ALSTOM METRO TRAINS

I write further to my email of 4th May concerning the above matter and to inform you that I have received an update report from the Lead Officer with regards Alstom Metro Trains planned Furlough Arrangement on the London Underground contract.

The Furlough Arrangement that was planned for a limited number of staff has been cancelled as London Underground has reinstated their requirement for the company to be able to run their full service from Monday 18th May. The Furlough Arrangements had not been formally activated and those staff that were to be Furloughed have been granted Special Paid Leave until Thursday 14th May by Alstom Metro Trains.

Your union’s National Executive Committee has considered the matter and notes that the company has now cancelled their proposed Furlough Arrangements.

I trust this keeps you fully advised on the matter and I will, of course, keep you informed on any further developments.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
