FURLOUGH LEAVE – GO SOUTH COAST

Our Ref B/8/2

31st March 2020

TO ALL RMT MEMBERS AT GO SOUTH COAST

Dear Colleagues

FURLOUGH LEAVE – GO SOUTH COAST

Your Regional Organiser, along with your representatives, have made numerous attempts to speak to the senior management of Go South Coast over the last few days. This has been without success.

We have been informed that you will today be issued a form regarding agreeing to Furlough Leave. This means you will be stood down from work and the government will protect 80% of your gross pay.

I must advise you that we are not in agreement regarding the content of this form however; as we have not been consulted and have been unable to voice our concerns. As a result we have made no agreements with the company over a furlough selection process and are therefore unable to provide you with any details or advice on why you have been selected.

We therefore find ourselves in the difficult situation where we are advising you to sign this form in order to minimise the risk of redundancy, but that you should do so under duress. You are recommended to clearly write “under duress” on the form when you sign it.

I trust this keeps you fully advised on the matter and I will, of course, keep you informed on any further developments.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
