IMPACT OF COVID-19 – EAST MIDLANDS RAILWAY

To all East Midlands Railway Members

Dear Colleague

IMPACT OF COVID-19 – EAST MIDLANDS RAILWAY

In addition to the RMT’s national response to the Covid-19 pandemic, I write to assure you and your colleagues that the Union is working as hard as we can to obtain protective arrangements for all of our EMR members.

The Catering teams who were previously stood off have now been offered voluntary, temporary redeployment options. Whilst I recognise that the arrangements offered are imperfect, you should immediately accept any offer of redeployment and report back any concerns you may have to your Union Representatives. These concerns will be raised with management as we move along in the hope of resolving them with East Midlands Railway.

Our Revenue Protection grade members are also being offered voluntary, temporary redeployment options and as indicated above, the Union advises you to accept offers of redeployment and report back your concerns to your Representatives.

Once again, I can assure you that your Union Representatives are working extremely hard to deliver protections for you and your colleagues throughout the supply chain. Our members pay, safety and wellbeing is the Union’s priority at all times and if you feel you are being asked to carry out a task which puts you in danger, please ensure you use the safe-work procedure.

I will, of course, keep you fully advised on any further developments.

Best wishes.

Mick Cash
General Secretary
