Dear Colleagues

IMPLEMENTATION OF AGREED PAY INCREASES – STAGECOACH BUS UK

I can report that Stagecoach South are unwilling to enter into pay negotiations at Winchester depot, the pay anniversary for this workplace is 1st March 2020. Additionally, at Andover depot pay negotiations are now due to begin, as the pay anniversary for this workplace is 16th September 2020; however, management has been unable to advise your union when pay talks will commence.

The union’s National Executive Committee has considered this matter and is appalled at the company’s decision which effectively punishes our members who are essential workers and have kept this country moving during the coronavirus pandemic. Stagecoach is a multi-million pound company and they wish to have their cake and eat it by preventing key workers from having a pay rise in 2020.

In line with the wishes of the National Executive Committee, I have written to Stagecoach South outlining your union’s disappointment at the lack of any negotiation and the delay in their response to our pay claims. I have asked the company to contact the union’s negotiating team with a view to commencing pay talks as quickly as possible. Furthermore, I have made it clear to the company that this union expects that all pay awards will be backdated to the relevant pay anniversary. The RMT will also be facilitating a meeting with Unite the Union to discuss this matter.

I will keep you advised of all further developments.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
