IMPOSITION OF LATENESS AND ABSENCE POLICIES – DHL (VWC CONTRACT)

Our Ref HC/5/9

7th August 2019

TO ALL DHL MEMBERS ON THE VIRGIN WEST COAST CONTRACT

Dear Colleagues

IMPOSITION OF LATENESS AND ABSENCE POLICIES – DHL (VWC CONTRACT)

As you may be aware, DHL recently took the decision to impose a new Absence and Lateness management procedure without any consultation or agreement with your union RMT. Having spoken to your representative it is clear that you are very unhappy with these changes and the way in which the company have imposed them.

The union’s National Executive Committee has considered this matter and we have now informed DHL we are in dispute on this issue. We are now making the necessary preparations to ballot you and your colleagues for strike action and industrial action short of a strike. While this is ongoing please could you ensure that we have your correct address, workplace and job titles listed on our membership system. This can be checked via our website, ringing the helpline on 0800 376 3706 or by email to info@rmt.org.uk

We have asked for urgent discussions with DHL and I will keep you informed of developments.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
