IMPOSITION OF ROSTER, CARDIFF S&T DEPOT — NETWORK RAIL

Our Ref: BR4/8/2

25th July 2024

REBALLOT OPENS SOON

Dear RMT Member,

IMPOSITION OF ROSTER, CARDIFF S&T DEPOT — NETWORK RAIL

Following the imposition of a detrimental roster at Cardiff S&T Depot, you and your colleagues have previously taken strike action to defend your work/life balance and protect your health and wellbeing. Despite the best attempts from your representatives, the dispute remains unresolved due to Network Rail’s intransigence and refusal to find a solution this matter.

Due to the anti-trade union laws, the current mandate for industrial action will soon expire. In order to maintain this mandate for industrial so that you can stand together to demand a reasonable roster that respects your work/life balance, the National Executive Committee has instructed me to conduct a re-ballot of all affected members for strike action and action short of a strike.

The relevant ballot notice has been served on the employer in line with current legislation, and the ballot papers will be dispatched by the independent scrutineer next Thursday 1st August 2024 and will be arriving at your home address soon after this date.

The ballot closes after First Post on Tuesday 20th August 2024. It is essential that you complete your ballot paper, voting ‘YES’ to both questions and return it as soon as possible.

If your postal address has recently changed, please email info@rmt.org.uk or call the freephone helpline on 0800 376 3706 to amend this.

VOTE ‘YES’ FOR STRIKE ACTION

VOTE ‘YES’ FOR INDUSTRIAL ACTION SHORT OF STRIKE

I will keep members advised of all further developments.

Yours sincerely

Michael Lynch
