STRIKE ACTION SUSPENDED
MEMBERS TO WORK THEIR NORMAL DUTIES

Dear Colleague

IMPOSITION OF ROSTERS & ABROGATION OF AGREEMENTS, TRAFFORD PARK – FREIGHTLINER LTD

Further to my letter dated the 12th August 2020 with regards to the above dispute and where I informed you of the industrial action due to be held on Tuesday 1st September 2020. I can now advise you that a further Avoidance of Disputes meeting has been held and I have received an updated report from the Lead Officer, indicating that progress has been made and the company has tabled a proposed offer in an attempt to resolve the dispute situation between our two organisations.

Your union’s National Executive Committee has considered the matter and welcomes the proposed offer made by Freightliner. The offer comprises numerous points for consideration by you and your colleagues. Importantly the proposed agreement includes a compensatory payment of £100 for all our members, plus management confirm movement of turn off base roster is with mutual agreement and that a minimum of 2 Traffic Clerks will be rostered on Nights, regardless of workload.

Therefore, the Executive Committee has taken the decision to suspend the industrial action on Tuesday 1st September 2020 and members are advised to work their normal duties. The Executive Committee has also taken the decision to conduct an electronic referendum of you and your colleagues so that you can have your say on Freightliner’s proposed offer. I am now making the necessary arrangements for a referendum to be held and I will write again shortly.

In the meantime, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your colleagues for standing united throughout this dispute. It is without doubt that your strength of feeling has sent a clear message to management and helped progress talks to reach this stage.

Best wishes.

Mick Cash
General Secretary
