IMPOSITION OF ROSTERS & ABROGATION OF AGREEMENTS, TRAFFORD PARK – FREIGHTLINER LTD

Our Ref: BR3/8/2

12th August 2020

Dear Colleague

IMPOSITION OF ROSTERS & ABROGATION OF AGREEMENTS, TRAFFORD PARK – FREIGHTLINER LTD

Further to my letter dated the 11th August 2020 with regards to the above dispute and where I informed you of the fantastic results in the ballot for strike action and action short of a strike. First and foremost, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your colleagues for standing shoulder to shoulder and voting overwhelmingly in the ballot for industrial action. The company has been sent a clear message from this result that we will not tolerate unacceptable behaviour from management.

Your Union believes that Freightliner has acted outside of the procedural arrangements and imposed an unagreed roster on our Traffic Clerk and Multi Skilled Operative members located at Trafford Park. The imposed roster will have a significant impact on our affected member’s earnings and the RMT believes this is a serious abrogation of local agreements.

The union’s National Executive Committee has again considered the matter and believes that industrial action is necessary to force management to resolve these issues urgently. Therefore, your Executive Committee has taken the decision to call on all our Freightliner MSO, Senior Traffic Clerk and Traffic Clerk members at Trafford Park to take the following strike action.

Members are instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:

00.01 hours and 23.59 hours on Tuesday 1st September 2020

Once again, congratulations to our members at Trafford Park for your show of strength and solidarity in supporting this very important dispute.

UNITY IS STRENGTH
SUPPORT YOUR UNION – SUPPORT THE ACTION

Best wishes.

Mick Cash
General Secretary
