INDUSTRIAL ACTION FOR FLEET MAINTENANCE MEMBERS AT TfW RAIL SERVICES

Dear colleague

FLEET DEPOT STRATEGY, WALES AND BORDERS FRANCHISE, KEOLIS AMEY

I write further to my letter to you of 9th May 2019 which had the details of your magnificent vote in favour of taking industrial action over TfW Rail Services’ failure to provide any reassurances over your future employment within the franchise.

I can now advise you that a meeting has now been held with your Company Council and Depot Representatives and your National Executive Committee and national officials. This meeting heard that the union had not yet been able to secure a meeting with the First Minister and that the earliest the Welsh Government Forum could meet was 4th June 2019, while further meetings with the company are planned.

The meeting also heard the request from your representatives that now was the time to take industrial action. With this in mind and in order to bring as much pressure on the company as possible – and taking into account the overwhelming mandate that you and your colleagues have given – your NEC instructs you to take the following action:

• Not to book on for any shifts which commence between 06.00 hours on Saturday 8th June 2019 and 05.59 hours on Monday 10th June 2019

• Not to work overtime or rest days from 00.01 hours on Monday 3rd June until further notice

The company has had ample opportunity to address the concerns raised by your union on your behalf for some time now. The message is loud and clear from you and your colleagues that it is now time for management to get round the negotiating table and provide the reassurances that you have been demanding from them.

Hopefully, your determination throughout this dispute and the commitment to take industrial action will have an effect, but this action remains on unless and until there is positive news about your future employment within the franchise.

SUPPORT YOUR UNION SUPPORT THE INDUSTRIAL ACTION

Yours sincerely
