INTERNATIONAL WORKERS’ MEMORIAL DAY

27th April 2020
Dear Colleague,

A REMINDER AND THANK YOU

INTERNATIONAL WORKERS’ MEMORIAL DAY: TUESDAY 28TH APRIL 2020- MINUTE’S SILENCE AT 11.00 AM TO COMMEMORATE FIGHT AGAINST COVID - 19 PANDEMIC

Every year on April 28th, all around the world, the trade union movement unites to mark International Workers’ Memorial Day.

We remember those who have lost their lives at work and renew our efforts to organise collectively to prevent more deaths, injuries and disease.

The Covid-19 pandemic affects every worker regardless of sector or locality.

If it was not for key workers such as yourselves the impact of COVID 19 would be far worse for our families, friends and communities.

So, thank you – you can be proud of your role in fighting this pandemic.

But 28th April is not just about remembering and thanking you and other key workers. It’s about saying loudly and clearly, we will fight for new protections and rights for our members and other key workers.

So, on Tuesday 28th April at 11am, please take part in a minute's silence where it is safe to do so and please help spread the word about the minute's silence by encouraging as many friends and colleagues to take part, whether in their workplace or at home.
