TO ALL ISS STAFF at Edinburgh

Our Ref: HSR/2/14

15th November 2018

Dear Colleague,

Further to my letter dated 25th October, your RMT Reps have met with the Company and reached a position where ISS have now agreed to conduct a full and proper review of the current facilities within the basement and to implement a better storage system. This will allow for the messroom to be cleared out and provide a better working environment for members. In return for this, members will use the Ops Depot for their designated meal relief.

In the longer-term ISS will arrange for reports and findings into the air extraction in the basement. It was identified that there were in fact air conditioning units in among the stores. And that these had previously been in use due to the conditions.

This matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee, which has noted the current position and the commitments given by the Company which meet the demands of this Union. The NEC has therefore taken the decision to suspend the strike action due to take place on Sunday 18th November 2018. You are therefore instructed to book on for your shifts and work as normal.

Your RMT Reps will of course be closely monitoring this situation to make sure that the Company do what has been promised. I also wish to thank and congratulate members for your determination to see this issue resolved which has led us to be able to reach an agreement with the Company.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
