JOINT WORKING PARTY, NATIONAL ROSTERING PRINCIPLES - NETWORK RAIL SIGNALLING STAFF
Your National Operations Representatives have been involved in negotiations for a new National Rostering Principles (NRP) document for Signalling Staff over several years. The existing NRP document was last updated in 2003 and the Joint Working Party (JWP) meetings to negotiate a new document were inconsistently held and the negotiations themselves fraught and tense with little progress made towards a document that was agreeable.
The opportunity presented itself to request the company provide a new negotiating team and a renewed commitment to work positively to the NRP project to be completed. Your National Operations Representatives now report that negotiations have proceeded as far as possible, with the company refusing to concede any further ground.
Your NEC has noted that the NRP is currently subject to members’ existing local agreements and interpretations. Therefore, I have been instructed to conduct an electronic referendum of all those affected members asking them to review the relevant documentation and to vote to either accept or reject the proposed document.
Please note that this referendum only affects members in the following Grades: Signallers, Crossing Keepers, Birmingham New St Duty Operations Managers, Station Co-ordinators, Platform Assistants & Platform Co-ordinators.
Prior to the launch of the referendum (we anticipate next week), I would be grateful if members can ensure we have the correct contact information for you as voting will conducted only via email. If you or any of your colleagues needs to update their details, please email email@example.com or phone the National Helpline on 0800 376 3706 and we will update this for you. Members can also update their details themselves via E-membership on the Members Area of the RMT website.
I would like to reiterate - you will need an email address to vote in the forthcoming referendum - if you know any of your colleagues who has not received this email please advise them to contact RMT immediately.
Full details of the proposals and voting links will be sent to members from in due course and I urge you to use your vote.
