JUSTICE FOR STATION AND REVENUE STAFF – LONDON UNDERGROUND

Our Ref: LUL/14/2

24 January 2020

Dear colleague

JUSTICE FOR STATION AND REVENUE STAFF – LONDON UNDERGROUND

You will no doubt be aware by now of London Underground management’s attempts to bulldoze through proposals to create a new grade in Revenue. These Revenue Control Officers (RCOs) will be employed in vastly inferior terms and conditions to you and your RCI colleagues.

Instead of filling all existing RCI vacancies – and there have been too many for far too long now – LU are implementing a cost-cutting exercise and hoping that revenue control duties can get done on the cheap. They can’t and if LU management get away with it they won’t stop there. It is apparent that management will try to erode the RCI grade and replace it with the new RCO grade.

Your National Executive Committee has therefore declared a dispute with LU over this matter and over the fact that it also intends to deploy non-LUL enforcement officers onto LU infrastructure in the face of opposition from your union.

The ballot opens on Thursday 30th January 2020 and will close on Thursday 20th February 2020 so look out for your voting papers in the post. If you or any of your colleagues have not received your voting paper by Monday 10th January then contact your union’s freephone helpline on 0800 376 3706 or the switchboard on 020 7387 4771 and a replacement paper will be sent out to you.

It is vitally important that every member uses their vote as the anti-union laws mean that 50% of those eligible to vote must do so for this ballot to be valid. Your own personal vote could make all the difference. Do not let these anti-democratic laws stop you fighting your cause.

Important Please Note:  The Scrutineer for RMT Ballots and Elections is now ‘Civica Election Services' and not the 'Electoral Reform Society'. Letters from Civica are not Junk Mail and should be opened.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR VOTE
RETURN YOUR VOTING PAPER
VOTE YES TO BOTH QUESTIONS ON THE BALLOT PAPER

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
