Lancaster & District Branch Annual General Meeting – 28th November 2024
With reference to the above, the Lancaster & District Branch’s Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday 28th November 2024 from 19.00 hours at The Ex-Serviceman’s Club, Scotland Road, Carnforth LA5 9JY, which is close to Carnforth railway station and the Network Rail MDU.
At this important meeting and under Rule, the Branch is required to elect its Officers for the forthcoming year, which will enable the Branch to function in full. This will include filling the Branch Secretary position, which was vacated when the former Secretary retired.
For its management, each Branch of the Union is required to have the following positions filled:
· Chairperson,
· Vice-Chairperson
· Secretary
· Three Trustees
· A Committee of not less than seven members
· Assistant Secretary (noting the Branch has over 100 members)
If considered necessary, the Branch may also elect a Treasurer, a Check Steward, Membership Secretary, Assistant Membership Secretary and Collectors. If necessary, Stewards can also be appointed to assist the Secretary in important Branch business during the interval between Branch meetings.
Should you be interested in being considered for one of these roles, to be eligible to be elected or hold office, you must be employed in accordance with Rule 2, Clause 1 and not be in arrears with membership contributions.
