WITHDRAWAL FROM ALL ELECTRONIC SCANNING OF TICKETS TO START FROM 0001 HOURS ON FRIDAY 7TH JUNE 2024
Dear Colleague
NEW TECHNOLOGY PAYMENT – TRANSPENNINE EXPRESS
Following the phenomenal ballot result that smashed the anti-trade union legislation the Union’s National Executive Committee called for all TransPennine Express Conductor grade members to take industrial action short of a strike, as outlined below:
- With effect from 0001 hours on Friday 7th June 2024 until further notice TPE Conductor members are instructed to withdraw from all electronic scanning of tickets.
With action due to start tomorrow, it is important that members remember that other Train Operating Companies are routinely providing remuneration for carrying out electronic scanning of tickets, so there is no excuse for TPE to refuse these payments.
I urge you and your colleagues to take a principled stand against TPE management and demand that you are fairly rewarded for undertaking this work. Let us stand together, shoulder to shoulder, sending a clear message to management that we are united in our fight to receive a fair deal.
Through solidarity, determination, and effective industrial action we will get a just result and achieve fair remuneration for electronic ticket scanning.
I trust this keeps you fully advised on the matter and I will, of course, update you on any further developments.
UNITY IS STRENGTH
Yours sincerely
Michael Lynch
General Secretary
