Dear colleague,
NOISE LEVELS ON THE VICTORIA LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND
RMT has declared a dispute with London Underground Ltd (LUL) over the company’s failure to reduce the level of track noise, in particular on the Victoria Line.
RMT believes that management are not taking action fast enough to protect our members hearing and levels of stress and anxiety. This matter has been reported to the National Executive Committee which has taken the decision to ballot members for strike action and industrial action and short of a strike in the form of driving in protected mode at an appropriate reduced speed to mitigate the creation of excessive noise and to alleviate the distraction, discomfort and anxiety caused in the affected areas.
It is crucial that we stand united in this dispute and show our strength of feeling to the company by returning a massive YES vote in the ballot for strike action and action short of a strike. Please do not waste your vote and make sure you return your ballot paper. We need to show our full support to get the company to act in this case and take immediate steps to reduce noise levels within an acceptable timeframe. Please complete the enclosed ballot paper and return it no later than First Post, Tuesday 15th October 2024.
MAKE SURE YOU USE YOUR VOTE
If you have not received your voting paper or know of a colleague who has not received it, please call the freephone helpline on 0800 376 3706, RMT Head Office on 0207 387 4771 or e-mail info@rmt.org.uk to request a replacement.
Important Please Note: The independent scrutineer for RMT Ballots and Elections is 'Civica Election Services'. Letters from Civica are not Junk Mail and should be opened. |
