PAY, TERMS AND CONDITIONS, CLEANING GRADES – TRANSPORT FOR WALES

 

Further to my previous correspondence regards to the above matter, I can now advise you that a meeting has been held and I have received an update report from the Lead Officer highlighting the imbalance in rates of pay and conditions of service for our Cleaning grade members employed with Transport for Wales (Rail) and Transport for Wales (Gov).

 

The matter has been subject to recent consideration by the union’s National Executive Committee and I have been instructed to carry out the following actions:

 

• Commence a campaign to achieve employment of all Transport for Wales Cleaning grades on Rail conditions.
• Submit the RMT pay claim as soon as possible with a key demand being a move to Rail conditions on a salary comparable to the Station Environmental Operative grade as a minimum.
• Place this issue on the Agenda of the next meeting with the Senedd Parliamentary Group.
