Pension, Terms and Conditions – Wightlink

Further to my letter dated 13th November 2020, in which I advised you that your union had been in discussions with Wightlink over changes to your pension and terms and conditions. After a further round discussions with the union’s negotiating team, the National Executive Committee has instructed me to write to both Wightlink Ltd and Wightlink (Guernsey) Ltd demanding that the company:-

Withdraw their proposal to close the Defined Benefit Pension Scheme to existing members.
Withdraw their proposal to reintroduce the flexible working practices which all employees were subject to in the first six months of the pandemic.

I have advised management that unless they comply with the above demands by noon on Monday 7th December 2020, then the RMT will be in dispute with the company over these issues and be forced to ballot members at both Wightlink Ltd and Wightlink (Guernsey) Ltd for industrial action

As you may be aware, the RMT Branches are holding weekly zoom meetings on a Monday to discuss the current dispute and I would encourage you all attend at least one of these meetings. Please contact you local RMT Representative for further information regarding the Monday meetings.
