PROPOSED REDUNDANCIES, CCTV STAFF, PAISLEY & DUNFERMLINE – SCOTRAIL

Our Ref: BR2/16/3
3rd May 2018

Dear Colleagues

STRIKE ACTION SUSPENDED

PLEASE WORK AS NORMAL ON SATURDAY 5TH MAY 2018

PROPOSED REDUNDANCIES, CCTV STAFF, PAISLEY & DUNFERMLINE – SCOTRAIL

Further to my previous correspondence, following a series of long and protracted talks between Scotrail and your union’s negotiating team; I confirm that there has been some progress made in respect of the dispute.

The company has agreed that the present working practices at Paisley and Dunfermline will remain the same until a joint review is completed. As part of the joint review, the RMT and the company will scrutinise volume of work and staffing levels at both locations in order to work towards a permanent resolution to this issue.

Having spoken to your Regional Organiser and Representatives and noting the positive progress that has been achieved, the union’s National Executive Committee has agreed to suspend the strike action which was scheduled to start at 00:01 hours on Saturday 5th May 2018. Therefore members must work normally on Saturday.

However, the strike action on 11th and 12th June 2018 is still scheduled to go ahead. The union has not reached a final position with Scotrail yet and further talks are scheduled to take place in the coming weeks.

I trust this keeps you fully advised and I will inform you of any further developments on this issue when they arise.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
