PROPOSED TUPE TRANSFER OF S&C AND PLAIN LINE OPERATIONS FROM COLAS RAIL TO VOLKER RAIL

 

Your Lead Officer has reported that, following the conclusion of the tendering process a formal consultation process has now commenced with the intention that staff employed on the Southern contract will transfer from Colas Rail to VolkerRail on 24^th April 2024. 

 

• Both companies have confirmed that the TUPE provisions will apply, and that staff will be transferring under the protection of the TUPE legislation
• Approximately 122 staff have been identified for transfer
• Existing terms and conditions will be protected
• Collective agreements and trade union recognition will remain
• Some minor changes are proposed in line with the VolkerRail payroll cycle
