Dear Colleague,

Rates of Pay & Conditions of Service 2017 – Stagecoach South West
(Plymouth, Tavistock & Dartmouth)

In line with union policy, a pay claim for an increase in pay and improved terms and conditions was submitted to the company. The Regional Organiser has met with them and the following offer has been tabled:-

•    An increase of 1.5% on current basic rate of £9.13 (making £9.27_ from Sunday 2nd April 2017 for six months.
•    An increase of 1.5% on basic rate of £9.27 (making £9.41) from Sunday 1st October 2017 for six months.
•    Where applicable the same percentage increase will be applied to the overtime rates in the case of drivers the overtime rate will increase to £10.53 from Sunday 2nd April 2017 and to £10.69 from Sunday 1st October 2017.
•    The premium rate for Drivers who work after 19:00 will continue at 5%.
•    Current Company Sick Pay scheme arrangements will not change (remaining at 100% of basic rate).
•    Staff members on pay rates lower than the driver rate will receive the applicable pence per hour increase, while staff on driver rate or higher will receive the applicable percentage figure increase’s on the agreed dates, (flowing through to premium payments where they exist) with the exception of staff working in engineering skilled grades on rates above £14.35 per hour, whose rates will be frozen at the current value, but will receive the equivalent of a 1.5% increase from Sunday 2nd April 2017 paid retrospectively every 13 weeks and a further 1.5% increase as from Sunday 1st October 2017  for 6 months paid retrospectively every 13 weeks until April 2018, when this and pay rates will be subject for review again.

A series of special branch meetings have taken place and the indication has been that the offer should be accepted as it is a one-year deal with no productivity strings. The Company has been informed of our acceptance of the offer and I have requested that the increase and any back monies are paid at the earliest opportunity.

Yours sincerely
