Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2018 – Mitie (Merseyrail Contract)
I am writing to advise you that the RMT is now in dispute with your employer regarding pay. Your union submitted a pay claim to Mitie in June 2018 and as of today’s date no written pay offer has been received from management. The union’s negotiating team met with Mitie in November 2018 and the company cited ongoing contractual problems with Merseyrail as an excuse for not tabling a pay offer. Following a further meeting in January 2019, the company verbally offered a 1.5% increase for both hard and soft services. This derisory offer was immediately rejected by the union’s negotiating team.
A further meeting has been scheduled for 13th February 2019. Having considered this matter, the union’s National Executive Committee has instructed me to write to Mitie advising them that should they refused table a satisfactory pay offer at the aforementioned meeting then the RMT will immediately ballot our members on this contract for industrial action.
