Rates of Pay & Conditions of Service 2018 – Virgin West Coast Trains
In line with union policy, a pay claim for an increase in pay and improved terms and conditions was submitted to the company. The Regional Organiser has met with them and the following offer has been tabled:-
• An increase of 4.0% or £950.00 (whichever is the greater) across the board for all grades, based on a single year, No strings deal and effective 1st April 2018.
• The salary bench mark is £23750. Anything lower than that then the £950.00 will be best and anything above then the 4.0% is best.
• While not linked to the 2018 pay, it has been agreed that the £500 one-off payment that formed part of the agreement to settle the 2017 pay dispute, will be paid to those who did not receive it due to having started work for the Company after the 1st April 2017. This includes those working for the Company between 2nd April 2017 and 25th January 2018 (closing date of our referendum).
• An agreement to work with RMT reps to restore the same level of flexibility for users of friends and family tickets as the previous paper-based scheme allowed
Your union’s National Executive Committee (NEC) has instructed me to inform the Company of our acceptance of this offer. This instruction has been carried out and I have requested that the increase and the back monies are paid at the earliest opportunity.
