RMT TO RE-BALLOT MEMBERS DUE TO ANTI-TRADE UNION LAWS
RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2019 – AXIS CLEANING AND SUPPORT SERVICES (TRANSPORT FOR WALES RAIL SERVICES)
Unfortunately, due to a factual error on our correspondence with Axis Cleaning and Support Services, the RMT will have to re-ballot members in the pay dispute. This is due to the anti-trade union laws which are designed to suffocate trades union with excessive red tape. I apologise for the delay and share your frustration at this state of affairs; however, this is yet another example of the unfair trade union legislation undermining workplace democracy.
The previous ballot has been withdrawn and if you have voted already it will not be counted. Consequently, you will be required to vote again.
Therefore - Your union is asking you to return a massive YES vote to help your union in the fight for pay justice. Only by returning a massive YES vote can we heap more pressure on management over this issue. The new ballot for industrial action will open on Wednesday 11th March 2020. Ballot papers will be sent to your home address shortly after this date and I urge you to vote YES for strike action and YES for industrial action short of a strike when you receive your voting paper. It is imperative that you do not waste your vote.
Important Please Note: The Scrutineer for RMT Ballots and Elections is now 'Civica Election Services' and not the 'Electoral Reform Society'. Letters from Civica are not Junk Mail and should be opened.
If you have not received your ballot paper by Thursday 19th March 2020 please contact the RMT Helpline on 0800 376 3706 and request a replacement voting paper or you can email firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively, you may wish to contact RMT Head Office on 0207 387 4771 and ask for the Industrial Relations Department.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR VOTE - RETURN YOUR VOTING PAPER
VOTE “YES” FOR BOTH STRIKE ACTION AND INDUSTRIAL ACTION SHORT OF A STRIKE
I will of course keep you advised of any developments in this matter when further information becomes available.
