INDUSTRIAL ACTION SUSPENDED
WORK AS NORMAL FROM 3RD JULY
Referring to my previous correspondence, I write to inform you that there has been a breakthrough in this dispute.
Talks have been held between your negotiating team and the company today and have resulted in the company requesting another meeting on 8th July and to cancel tonight’s industrial action. Your union has agreed to this on the proviso that should the talks fail on 8th July, then we would only have to issue a 7 day notice that the action would be re-instated instead of the 14 day notice demanded by the current legislation.
The company has agreed to this in writing and in the interests of seeking a resolution to the dispute, your union has agreed to suspend the action due to start at 00:01 on 3rd July 2019.
Therefore to summarise, the following action has been suspended:-
Not to work overtime and not to work on a rest day over the contracted 40 hours for one week commencing from:-
• 00:01 hours on 3rd July to 23:59 hours on 7th July 2019.
To clarify the position, should the talks fail, the action which has been cancelled can be resumed with only 7 days’ notice. All other industrial action on later dates remains on.
