RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2019 – NETWORK RAIL
Two meetings have taken place with Network Rail on the Operations and Maintenance pay claim effective 1st January 2019. At the meeting on Friday 30th November 2018 the company made an initial proposal which is as follows:
An unconditional offer of an increase in basic pay of 2% in 2019 and 2020.
We are open to increasing this offer (including a minimum uplift) if it can be funded through productivity initiatives.
Role Clarity Contracts
Following the development of a 24/7 contract for bands 1-4, we will seek to agree a similar approach for band 5-8s as appropriate.
Christmas and New Year’s pay arrangements
As part of the overall deal we can agree to uplift Christmas bonuses for employees on ex Jarvis, Amey and by association, Carillion contracts by the value of the pay award agreed from 1 January 2019 onwards.
We are prepared to review all of the allowances with a view to simplification. Such a review could only be undertaken on a cost neutral basis. If you can support the cost neutral principle we will initiate a review.
Season ticket subsidy
We can offer an increase of £250, to the annual cap for the season ticket subsidy for all employees. The increased subsidy cap will be £2,750 pa.
Application of the full value of the pay award to all bands 5-8
To extend the remit of the review of the approach to performance management currently offered to TSSA for bands 1-4 to include bands 5-8 with RMT involvement.
An additional 3 month redeployment period in addition to contractual notice and severance pay, for those colleagues who are made redundant on an involuntary basis.
This proposal has not been accepted and falls way short of your union’s aspirations in these negotiations.
A further negotiations meeting is scheduled for 13th December 2018 and I will keep you informed of developments.
