Dear Colleagues

PREVIOUS INDUSTRIAL ACTION CANCELLED
NEW ACTION CALLED

RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2019 – CLARKE CHAPMAN FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

Further to previous correspondence, I write to advise you that National Executive Committee has today considered this matter again following discussions with your negotiating team. It has been decided to change the industrial action called in my letter to members on 4th July.

Therefore the 24 hour strike called on 21st July, as well as the overtime and rest day working bans called from 18th to 20th July and 22ndJuly onwards are cancelled. Members are instructed to work normally on these days!

The NEC has noted that whilst the company appear keen to meet further with our representatives and recommence discussions on pay the lead officer also reports that there is clear evidence that management are considering avenues in an attempt to “mitigate” and undermine the industrial action we have called. We have therefore reassessed the situation and believe that our tactics needed to change in order to ensure the maximum impact of the action we call. Please find our new industrial action instructions outlined below.

Members are instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:-

• 00:01 hours Saturday 27th July 2019 and 23:59 hours on Sunday 28th July 2019

Additionally members are also instructed as follows: -

• Not to work any overtime and/or rest days with effect from 00:01 hours on Monday 29th July 2019 until further notice.

I urge you and your colleagues to strongly support this action and send a clear message to management that we will accept nothing less than a decent pay offer that rewards all your hard work and loyalty.

As always we have made to clear to Clarke Chapman that RMT remains available for talks to try to resolve this matter. I will keep members fully informed of any further developments.

UNITY IS STRENGTH
SUPPORT THE INDUSTRIAL ACTION

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
