Rates of Pay & Conditions of Service 2019 - East Midlands Railway
Negotiations for your pay rise this year have been prolonged and fraught. However, finally after rejecting earlier inferior offers, talks have proved more fruitful with the following offer being tabled:-
An increase of 3.06% or £700, if greater, to all base salaries and dynamic allowances, effective from 1st April 2019.
A pension pay cap of 3.55% will apply to all increases to pensionable pay between 1st April 2019 and 31st March 2020.
In addition to this offer the following items have been discussed and agreed:-
Discussion regarding the introduction of smartcard technology will take place with the relevant Company Councils respectively.
East Midlands Railway will ensure that the employees of its suppliers will be paid the Living Wage, with deficiencies addressed through the contracts renewal process.
East Midlands Railway will work with our reps to try and resolve harmonisation for all grades inherited from Central Trains and Midlands Mainline, should there be a business case to do so.
The offer has been considered by the NEC and after careful deliberation; it has instructed me to inform the company of our acceptance of the offer. Make no mistake, this has been a great success as RMT has secured an above RPI increase for you and your colleagues and it has achieved valid progress towards a real harmonisation process.
The agreement to pay the Living Wage for members working for contractors on an East Midlands Railway contract is a testament to your union’s ability to negotiate for all grades in all workplaces, whether they are directly employed or not.
The company has been informed of our acceptance and you should receive your base salary back pay in your December 2019 pay and your allowances back pay in your January 2020 pay.
